Nintendo Switch 2 is now official, and it comes with everything

Index
Nintendo has finally unveiled the Switch 2, featuring several key improvements that bring it up to the standards of 2025 without losing its portable essence.
What's New?
- Larger screen (7.9") and 1080p resolution, with support for 4K in dock mode.
- 120 FPS and 256 GB of internal storage. Yes, finally decent space.
- Wi-Fi 6 and two USB-C ports, a much-requested feature.
- Magnetic Joy-Cons, more durable and with new functions like mouse-like use.
- New C button for sharing and chatting with GameChat.
The Switch 2 not only improves in numbers but also adds technology that impacts gameplay:
- DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling): Renders at lower resolutions and upscales to 4K with AI assistance, without sacrificing performance.
- Ray Tracing: More realistic lighting and reflections thanks to dedicated cores.
- Tensor Cores: Handle artificial intelligence tasks directly from the chip.
- G-SYNC and VRR Compatibility: Enjoy seamless visuals without tearing or skips on a compatible display.
Nintendo also revamped several accessories
- Updated Pro Controller, with better grip and longer-lasting battery.
- Magnetic charging base for the Pro Controller (not confirmed, but very likely).
- Joy-Con 2, now magnetic: more comfortable with new haptic feedback. Also functions as a mouse-like pointer.
- Double Joy-Con charger, ideal if you have more than one pair.
- Official case more resistant, with space for cartridges and Joy-Cons.
- Adjustable stand, more stable for tabletop mode gaming.

The new dock features HDMI 2.1, allowing for 4K gaming at 120 Hz. It also includes an Ethernet port, ideal for better online gaming connectivity. All in a more compact and sleek design.
Nintendo also released an external camera, designed for augmented reality games. It captures movements and faces. Details are still scarce, but it promises a lot.

Compatibility and Games
- Compatible with physical and digital games from the original Switch.
- Includes classics from GameCube.
- Supports Amiibos.
Confirmed games include Mario Kart World, Kirby Air Riders, and Donkey Kong Bananza. Enhanced versions of Zelda BOTW and Tears of the Kingdom are also on the way.

When and How Much?
- Release Date: June 5, 2025
- Base Price: $449.99
- Bundle with Mario Kart: $499.99
In summary: the Switch 2 doesn't reinvent anything, but it improves everything that made the original great. More power, better screen, backward compatibility, and enhanced Joy-Cons. Nintendo plays it safe... and does it well.
